One Year!

One year ago today using this very template, and with this entry I fulfilled my New Years resolution and started this blog. Never mind that it was my resolution from 2008, AND 2009. Or that it was on my Mondo Beyondo list in 2007! It’s rare that I carry over an unfulfilled resolution from year to year but this was one I really had the desire to try. I thought it would be a lot harder than it was to get started or I would have surely started sooner. I have made new friends in the blogging world and even met a couple of them in real life. I’ve learned things about myself I didn’t know, and so have you. So, thanks for meeting up with me here from day to day, for your generous comments, your wit and wisdom that you put into your own blogs, and for bearing with me as I learn. There are still things I don’t understand- like what it means to be a follower, but I’m learning! I’ve used Smitten Blog Designs the whole year and been very pleased with their offerings and the ease of use. I’ll close the year out with the poem I started with, one that still brings me joy.

Sometimes -- Sheenagh Pugh

Sometimes things don't go, after all,
from bad to worse. Some years, muscadel
faces down frost; green thrives; the crops don't fail,
sometimes a man aims high, and all goes well.

A people sometimes step back from war;
elect an honest man; decide they care
enough, that they can't leave some stranger poor.
Some men become what they were born for.

Sometimes our best efforts do not go
amiss; sometimes we do as we meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen: may it happen to you

Happy Anniversary, my blogger friend. That cupcake looks mighty delicious to me right now and it's only 5:45 AM.

I'm a little behind on reading your posts, so off I go.

Warm hugs,

donna

Oh, how I love that poem.
I especially love
"Decide they care enough, that they can't leave some stranger poor."
I wish that would describe all Christians. Many of our aquaintances are fretting over what they might loose insted of what they can share.
But, sometimes........
