Makeover
There was a lot of excitement in Louisville today as the big “reveal” happened and a local family became the recipients of an Extreme Home Makeover.Pretty exciting!
On the other side of town, another makeover was quietly taking place. Two weeks ago, this was just an unused garage on the grounds of the group home my DH works at.
But with the addition of a window and some new doors, gallons of fresh paint, and some helpful volunteer hands
this garage is now a pottery studio. And I mean a really really nice pottery studio.
DH is a potter, so he has been beside himself with happiness as this project has developed. Now he can’t wait to get those boys in there and start teaching!
I’m wondering if I will ever see him now!

Wednesday Link Love
Head right over to Siggy Spice to check out this fun idea!
A lot of work, but with a cool result!
Love the banner idea, not so sure on those giant flowers…….
I LOVED mail as a kid. Well, I still do! This looks like such a fun treat for some special little somebody.
Yep. I’m copying this one. On the lookout for some big trays before winter weather sets in. If it ever sets in.
And when that weather sets in, I will bake with no concern about heating the kitchen up.
Little holiday edition of Cake Wrecks.
A beautiful blog, and I would love to have a stash of her Single Woman’s Refrigerator Sauce in my own freezer!
A truly beautiful post, and a reminder of the sweetest of times.
Oh, I’m loving these! Not sure I would wear one, but I love the way they look!!!
And finally, more things for you pray your children never experiment with….

Music Monday
We had a little discussion at community meal tonight about the Partridge Family and how much all of us (well, the women anyway) loved them. I however, was and remain a faithful fan of the Cowsills- the original and real singing family. Their mom DID actually sing with them, as did their little siblings, and they actually DID do their own singing and instrumentals as opposed to the Partridges. I have every single one of their albums to this day. And one can certainly see why I loved them so in this classic.

Sunday Senses
See- I got to see K today, once as a surprise and the second time because we had planned. I was very proud of her as she made multiple bus transfers to make it across town for the christening of her goddaughter.
Hear- Been listening to this all day and loving it.
Smell- We live about 35 miles from Fort Knox where there there is an uncontrolled brush fire that has been raging for a few days. The smoke and the smell have settled over Louisville the last couple of days, leaving us with an Air Pollution Advisory. With the blowing leaves and the smell, it would feel a little autumn-y, if course it weren’t 82 degrees!.
Taste- Our weekend lunches have been grilled jarlsburg cheese with apricot preserves sandwiches. Yummy! And it was great fun to bake a turkey and have the fixin’s (including this tasty creamed spinach) with K here to enjoy it with us, and she even did the dishes!!
Touch- Felt good to touch my old friends- paper, scissors, glue stick, embosser tonight.

Check out Puppy Love Preschool for some fun ideas for photos. Tonight’s moon would work quite well for all of these!
Oh, I love these fabrics! Especially the viewfinders!
What good and fun advice for someone planning a wedding.
These make me want to hunt up my needles and some yarn!
OH, this is like a feast! Enjoy every color!
I wish I had read this when my kids were young. Could have saved us some tears, as well as visits to the dentist!
Having never really had any smashing success with regular rice krispy treats, I don’t know why I think I would do any better with these, but don’t they sound divine?!
Just discovered Seven Spoons and the posts are as delicious as the recipes that follow them.
A happy fall treat.

I’m in love with beeswax! Like these beautiful leaves,
I’ve linked to a lot of funny things on Cake Wrecks, but this is my first time to link to one of their posts of truly gorgeous cakes.
Hey, I could do one of these. I probably have a key from every dwelling on my ring still. Guess I could also frame up one for every car I’ve had and one for every job I’ve had!
Aren’t these bowls beautiful?!!
Having been a Bakerella fan for a very long time, I am thrilled to see how popular her new book is!
A good read about telling our secrets.

I, for one, will be interested in catching this show. (And while you are over at her blog, check out some of Angela’s beautiful artwork.
Great idea for a family portrait.
A sweet entry, and a great idea especially in light of all of the issues of bullying.
I would like for Michelle to prepare me a lunch every day!
Adorable! That Shelby is a really good sport.
Lovin’ this today.
These look fun!!!
And a poem for you today:

What if…..?
So, my friends the Ruby family had this idea. What if a peace message went viral? This is their 10 year old son Wesley with his own response to Jon Stewart’s call for sanity. Check him out. Share the link. I mean, what if???
